His death is significant because he died for the woman he loved and that made his life a little bit more significant he says a verse from the bible “I am the resurrection and then life, saith the Lord; he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall never die; and whosoever liveth and believeth in me, shall never die. ” This quote helps him trough the execution and because his song. Sydney carton gains respect, and forges his love with lucie by giving up his life for her happiness.Sydney carton get executioned with the comfort of knowing he is doing it for lucie the woman he love. He is I way the true hero of the novel. Sydney carton sacrifices his life for Lucie Manette the woman he has always loved, and the woman who kept him going and told him his life had meaning. Sydney carton turned his life around and turned himself into a true hero.
