Values and Ethics have many similarities in that they are a learned doctrine a person or group holds to be true, whether they follow it or not. Values can be the ethical ideals of a company as well. Values, in a sociological sense are “the ideals, customs, institutions, etc. , of a society toward which the people of the group have an affective regard.
These values may be positive, as cleanliness, freedom, or education, or negative, as cruelty, crime, or blasphemy. ” Ethics are “a system of moral principles: the ethics of a culture.
