What is “Love”? Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, and always perseveres. Love never fails. From a wee- little baby we all are conditioned to knowing loved and to be loved, but that is only unconditional love. But do we all know what Love really is? How to love someone and how it feels to be truly loved back?
Love is defined as a deep, tender feeling, an intense desire and attraction toward a person willing to make a relationship of emotion and romance. Lust, known as an intense or uncontrolled sexual craving for a person of attraction. Love can get misinterpret for Lust rather then love. Since our hormones are indecisive our feelings are most likely to be one way; one day and then the next it’s a different story. But is also depend on the gender. Girls are more like to have a deeper connections to a significant other then men do.
This is because men are perfectly capable of engaging in sex before they forge emotional bonds with a woman — and those raging hormones can easily disguise themselves as feelings of love. A lustful relationship only involves a physical attraction. Both love and lust show similarities in craving someone in a sensual way. Unlike lust, in love, people invest more emotional ties. Throughout many generations, love and lust has become a part of society that people cannot differentiate between the two feelings.
To some, love is a passionate and exciting kind of feeling that only few share and to others, lust is the feeling that most everyone comes to feel though it is the feeling that is mistakenly believed as love. To be able to tell the difference between the two is very difficult due to the fact that love and lust has so many similarities while they are two most definitely different things. Both can hurt ones’ feeling and at the same time bring joy into ones’ life. For instance, many encounter relationships scared of how the outcome could be and how a person can be affected.
When a person lusts, one believes that it is in fact, true love, but in actuality lusting is the ideal image of being in love. One usually becomes blinded by the emotion and is not clear about certain things. This person may believe he is in love but what he’s feeling is the desire to be in love with a significant other. ‘I love you, lets get in bed. ’ Are these the romantic words used to describe the emotions of ones’ feeling for their ‘love’, or is this simply an erected gesture to get someone in bed?
Love and lust is a small part of society that people cannot really differentiate between the two emotions. Both can hurt ones’ feeling, but at the same time bring excitement, adventure, and pleasure into ones’ life. Love, of course, is a passionate and exciting emotion that only few can experience and share. Lust is the blind-cover to shield the meaning of love, but to keep the passion and excitement that urges a person to intimacy. If given a survey to 100 people, asking what’s the difference between love and lust? Most likely, people would say “sex”.
Lust is intimacy, but love sometimes does not require intimacy, but just merely a peck on the cheek. Sometimes people mistakenly take lust as love because of the situation. Love has a positive affect on a relationship because when love exists in a relationship both partners hold the happiness of the other in a high esteem and place the happiness of their partner ahead of their own desires. Love affects relationships in a myriad of ways including how the couple interacts, the leisure activities they participate in and the longevity of the relationship.
Complicating the issue of separating love and lust is that it is often possible for lust to exist within a loving relationship. The existence of lust within a loving relationship is often driven by a desire to become closer to the partner. This is a natural occurrence as a physical relationship is extremely important in a romantic relationship. When lust exists within a loving relationship it is not necessarily detrimental to the relationship. As long as the lust does not take over the love and become the dominant characteristic it can be a healthy part of the relationship.
The opposite is not true, however. A lustful relationship cannot also include love. The primary characteristic of selfishness does not enable love to factor into a lustful relationship. Placing your own desires ahead of your partner’s precludes the formation of a loving bond. While it’s not possible to have a lustful relationship with the existence of love a little bit of lust mixed into a loving relationship can lead to a closer connection and stronger bond for the couple.
