Malnutrition is a sickness that comes from many issues to do with a balanced diet. It can come from lack of certain nutrients in a diet, excess of certain nutrients, or from taking certain nutrients in the wrong proportions. This disease, if not handled well, can lead to many other diseases and even death. For example, a deficiency of Iron can lead to Anemia, while an excess of it can lead to heart disease.Malnutrition is a very wide-spread sickness.

It affects mainly Low Economically Developed Countries, like Bangladesh, which have a significantly low food supply, causing high amounts of malnutrition. In 2007, the number of people with malnutrition was 293 million around the world, a currently rising number. Of these millions, a large percentage is located in LEDC’s in the so called ‘Poor South’.Another disease that affects LEDC’s is AIDS (Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome), which is largely spread throughout LEDC’s. AIDS is transmitted through HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus), which is caused by any exposure to body fluids which contain HIV. AIDS is currently a pandemic, meaning it is a highly contagious and wide-spread disease.
