Comment : Partition coefficient for sulphadimine and acetyl sulphadimine, the two drugs chosen has been found to be similar at lower volumes with very close or similar absorbance after shaking values. However at higher ph volumes absorbance after shaking seems to vary considerably for the two drugs and is clearly seen in the graph in which for the higher ph volumes the graphical presentation of the two drugs show variations whereas for the lower ph volumes the absorbance after shaking values of the two drugs are nearly similar.

Comments:

 

Run A shows log in absorbance decreasing in value with time as with an increase of time from 2 to 4 and up to 30 mins, the absorbance value decreased drastically from .26 to .03. The Log in Absorbance value also decreased significantly from -1.35 to -3.5 showing a drop towards negative values in absorbance with time. The graph has been plotted accordingly.

 

Run B shows a stable and not too drastically decreasing absorbance values with time as there has been increase of absorbance values in certain cases showing a rather uneven graph with occasional increase and decrease of values in absorbance with change of time from 2 mins to 30. In fact the log in absorbance rates varied from -0.92 to -0.69 varying between a low of -1.02 and a high of -0.62. The graph as plotted here shows uneven instead of a straight line in contrast to Run A.

 

Run C again shows a decreasing trend of absorbance with log in absorbance values ranging from -2.81 to -1.17 with absorbance values decreasing from .26 to .08 with increase of time. Plotted against time, the graph shows rapid variations but towards a higher negative value or lower slope and the unevenness of the graph tend to have a straight line pattern as seen from the graph. Log in absorbance again decreases from -1.35 to -2.53.
