We all have our own different and distinct ways of seeing
things, the way we may form an impression of someone is only our perspective
and perception of how we think things are but it does not necessarily mean that
our perception is fully accurate, and this in itself tends to raise a number of
questions. If we had to take another example of this, most students tend to
form an initial impression of their tutors based on their appearance, dress
sense, organization, intelligence and so on, yet we must keep in mind that our
perception does not necessarily match up to what we thing is that individuals
reality, hence in this regard we can note that perception is a two – way

Perception is defined as the process of selecting,
organizing, and the way we interpret information. This is referred to as the
perception process, which sheds light on a select stimuli that come to mind
through our perceptual filters. These are then organised into our very own
existing structures and patterns and are later interpreted according to
previous experiences. Although perception is mainly cognitive and
psychological, the way we perceive people and objects often affect our
communication. In fact we respond differently to an object or person that we
perceive favourably than we do to something we find unfavourable.

In this context I believe that perception can certainly be
subjective, each individual brings with him a different personality or
character trait, whereas he would see things differently to others.

The more mainstream idea is brought about through personal
opinions and beliefs. For example if something is ugly or beautiful, or if
chocolate frozen yogurt tastes superior to vanilla. They are personal since
they are not factual beliefs, as in there is no way of knowing whether
chocolate is in certainty superior to vanilla. It can be better to me, yet
perhaps to you vanilla may have the better taste.

One must keep in mind that every perceptual experience brings
about an objective and subjective side, one must start by questioning how
objective is our perception in reality? A statement is considered as objective
if it is neutral and not influenced by prejudices, feelings and interests, an
objective statement should correspond with facts. What might be good for us may
not necessarily mean that it is good for others.

Four elements make discernments fluctuate among individuals,
and these elements may make individuals sort out correspondence in a variety of
ways. Past encounters, physiology, culture and a person’s current emotional
state all add to various perceptions of the same communication. People get
stimulated from their environment, sort out the data and afterward translate
the information as a means of interpretation. Perception may alter any of those
three steps of basic communication.

Perceptions in communication prompt what we know as the halo

encountering or experiencing a certain event. For instance, somebody may see a
good characteristic in someone else, and after, he can use that bias to make
judgments toward that other person in question, even though this may lead to
the creation of stereo types. Perceptions likewise influence the working

Workers have a tendency to perceive and explain events that may be out of their
control, mostly those that originate from external causes. Managers may tend to
see an issue as an internal blunder, which implies a worker more than likely
caused the situation at hand to occur.

Perception can be defined as the dynamic methodology of
surveying and assessing data and intentionally comprehending that data in a
given situation. It incorporates diverse methods for understanding certain
settings in unique ways among different people. Then again, communication can
be named as the concept or process of exchanging or passing information from
one person (source) to another (destination) and back. Perception impacts
communication and refines information as it travels from one individual to the
next. This is because of various methods for seeing data relying upon different
individuals, information is constantly deciphered in an unexpected way.
Achieving the abilities of effective communication is one of the methods that
can help individuals live a better life and enhance co-existence with others.
